Korg DRV-1000 Pictures

A few days ago, my dad finally pushed me to go to the local thrift store. Boy, was I glad. I found this among the old electronics.

This is a Korg DRV-1000, a 12-bit rackmountable reverb unit from 1986. As can be seen from other pictures, its input is mono, and it allows for a stereo output. Among the modes are long and small hall, vocal and instrument plates, as well as a reverse reverb mode, which provides a playground for some really strange, and maybe even useful, effects.

As to the other inputs, there are two additional ins for a bypass controller and an input for the long mode, which theoretically should increase the tail to its maximum value, but from what I read, setting the Time knob to its maximum value of 9 provides the longest possible tail.

I shall play with this unit a little, and hope to integrate it into my otherwise all-software workflow.

By the way, I found little to no pictures of this unit on the internet, so hopefully this bunch of pictures should provide enough reference to those looking to purchase the unit. It is somewhat rare, from what I seem to find, and doesn’t cost all that much if it appears on eBay, so go ahead and check it out. The unit + shipping should not cost more than a dinner at Boston Pizza.
